these poems are in the book Metamorphosis
Nuit d'Amour
A moon,
alone,
fringed by lacy clouds
in the velvet sky.
Behind me
lies my shadow,
alongside me
stride my fears.
The raw truth
is I feel lonely
owning no fears.
Prey to the glaring sun
streaming into the room
as I recoil, blinded,
I leave your body, your even breathing.
My sins are burned to
smoke, ashes,
I am torn from thier grip,
I die, I own no fears, no sins,
I am a moon,
alone,
fringed by lacy clouds.
Empty Arms
Raindrops on tender burnt sienna petals
ochre in the cavity of the flower
the sealed bulbs shielded by the damp delicate petals,
cool to my caress.
to love each other-
I awaken,
was dreaming,
waves dizzy my head.
The black-tipped anthers
reach out to my phantom lover
the crisp sienna edges
turn pale ochre.
The leaves thirst for eau de cologne
I, too, yearn for love,
I want to
find myself in your leaves,
shielded from the lucid rain.
Fresh coated in sunshine,
blossoming fragrance of sweet
earth,I tire of empty arms,
a dream, a dream to know love.
In a garden where flowers
are dewdropped my leaves
hope in thirst for a sunnier day.
Solace
Gentle murmurs alarm me,
rings of greys smoke
dissolve in the atmosphere,
in his poignant hazel orisons-
I behold his burden of harming
me, he clings to my palm,
his tears are shed
at the table.
Rain floods to drown melancholy
spirits in him,
the coffee rinses
tears to creamy oblivion.
The sun passes
the ominous clouds
to him, I am a doe
that inhibits his resting arrow.
The wind swishes in the
trees, swaying in the breeze,
crows' and pidgeons' wings
flap by.
Solace is my
lingering scent in the
sheets, in the peace of night.
